A round table discussion titled “दुर्घटना: Exploring the surge of road and air mishaps in Nepal” was organized by Team Explore Idea on September 3, 2024. The event was solemnly commenced in the gracious presence of Rt. Hon. Devendra Dahal, Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. In order to address the present concerns of air and road accidents in Nepal, the participants conjectured about the country’s entire transportation system, concentrating on topographical considerations, transportation regulations, and transportation management. This interactive event uncovered many viewpoints that participants had regarding the recent incidents of aviation and road accidents.
The two tables that formed this round table discussion were table 1 (air accidents) and table 2 (road accidents). Our enthusiastic participants actively addressed key issues, including the ineffective government policies, negligence of responsible authorities, corruption, backwardness in technology, and many more. They emphasized the proper resolutions for these issues in order to somewhat lessen the vulnerability of transportation accidents in the context of Nepal.
